Here is one of his early designs. You can see how it closely matches my quick sketch up above. Warm air is drawn into a room, mixed with fresh, conditioned air, and then blown back in by a fan. Heat is removed by the refrigerator chiller pipes in the center of the duct , which are fed and controlled by a system of pumps, compressors, valves, and thermostats . Outside the building are many metal plates that radiate heat to the air. This can be done to heat the HVAC unit on a cold day.
